Apple mini iPad might be out sooner than we expected

Teaser
A new Apple iPad measuring 7.85inches might arrive before the fourth quarter of 2012

Earlier Steve Job used to say that a tablet smaller than 10inch wouldn’t cut as a tablet, but now it seem with the current status of the market they are planning to launch a 7.85inch iPad as reported by the Taipei-based Digitimes.

If this news is true then it will really be interesting to know, why Apple is going against Jobs wishes. It might be because of the rough competition given by the 7inch Kindle Fire which is also available at a very low price.

The report also points out that Apple will be using displays from LG and AU Optronics (AUO). They also suspect the production to start before the end of the second quarter and the product will be launched by the fourth quarter of 2012.

Earlier in one of his comment Jobs mentioned that there are clear limits on how close one can place thing on a touch screen and 10inch is the minimum screen size to create a great tablet application. He also added that the 7inch screen does not even provide a 70 percent benefit of a 10inch screen; rather it provides only about 45 percent benefit.

But these comments were all said before the Kindle and the Nook Tablet were in the market. But with the large market share they are starting to capture they might have lead Apple to take a second thought. Amazon recently has said that they have already sold about a million Fires and also mentioned that the demand is accelerating further.
