Aoostar has introduced a new mini PC series in China, the MACO. The first addition within the series is an affordable one, at least in the Chinese market. It will be available in two configurations, and one of them features the Ryzen 7 Pro 8845HS, which is a capable processor from the AMD Hawk Point lineup.
The second configuration packs the Ryzen 7 255H, also from the Hawk Point lineup. Both come with the Radeon 780M iGPU, making the first Aoostar MACO mini PC capable of handling most games with low visual settings at the 1080p resolution.
There are two USB4 and one OCuLink ports, which offer the option to hook the mini PC up with an eGPU for an even better gaming performance (GMKtec AD-GP1 curr. $469.99 on Amazon). Besides these three ports, the first Aoostar MACO model has the following port configuration:
- 2x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
- 2x 2.5G LAN
- 1x HDMI
- 1x DisplayPort
With two USB4, one HDMI, and one DisplayPort, the mini PC is capable of offering quad-display output. For storage, there are two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots, and the system has two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots. Among the other highlights are a compact chassis, a built-in fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello, and a "Glacier" cooling system for sustained performance under load.
As for the price, the barebone configuration of the Ryzen 7 255H costs CNY 1,999 in China, which is around $277. The Ryzen 7 Pro 8845HS config of the mini PC, on the other hand, costs CNY 2299, around $319. Aoostar has yet to share details on global pricing and availability, but the system is expected to make an international debut soon.
