Android is closing in on the iPad

Teaser
Android devices are gaining more of the market shares, which makes Apple to have lost a few shares in the market

The no. of tablets running on Google’s Android platform is rising with proof of their swelling sales according to some new figures. They have reported a sale of about tenfold from the last year’s sales. Finally we can see Apple’s iPads are facing a serious competition after such a long dominance over the market.

Although this rise is not able to provide a serious dent in the Apple’s dominance but according to the analysts of Strategy Analytics, Samsung’s latest generation of Galaxy Tablets has led a rise in Android tablet sales. However it is also accompanied by other Android models from Motorola, Acer, and others.

Startegy Analytics have reported that iPad’s market sales in the last quarter dropped to 67 percent which was earlier at 96 percent. But the Android Tablets have jumped from 2.3 percent in the last year to 27 percent in the same quarter this year.

According to Bloomberg the total tablet sales in the third quarter amounted to 16.7 million which more than the three times of 4.4 million what was a year earlier.

Google is also coming up with their latest Android 4.0 or the Ice Cream Sandwich which may also attract a few more customers.

Even new products are expected to increase this figures for Android further. One of them can be is the Amazon’s latest tablet which is priced just as the hardware provided or we may call it as an entry level tablet. Its pre-order rumors have already touched figures where it can be called as the largest selling Tablet in the first month after release.

So we may say that the future for Android devices also seems to be bright with all these new innovations.
