Alleged Google Pixel 5a live images leaked but there is something distinctly fishy about them
Alleged Google Pixel 5a live images have found their way online and even though there seems to be a high chance that they are fake, they are worth a quick glance over to give some idea of what is expected from the Pixel 5a smartphone. The device hasn’t even been officially confirmed yet, but it has turned up here and there, including in a document that revealed the smartphone supposedly has the codename “barbette”.
The purported real-world photos of the Pixel 5a show that the punch-hole cutout from the Pixel 4a has disappeared, with some opining that the selfie camera has now been stuffed into a thick top-edge bezel. A couple of the live images conveniently show the “5a” logo in typical Google livery while the other two pictures mention video stabilization and some fastboot mode details.
However, the leaker of the Google Pixel 5a live images hasn’t got a particularly trustworthy record via the source, SlashLeaks, and there is something fishy about the data revealed in one of the photos. A product revision codename of “starfish” is shown, which conflicts with the “barbette” codename leak, and the serial number certainly seems suspicious at “0123456789ABCDEF”. So as always with this kind of leak, take the Pixel 5a images with a healthy pinch of salt.
