Aakash, the cheapest tablet is reported to be facing a delay in delivery of the booked tablets to next year

Aakash tablet, touted to be the cheapest tablet has decided to deliver the device in January. They had opened an online booking of the device on 15th of December and were about to deliver the devices in a week.

DataWind, the Canadian company, manufacturing the tablet didn’t cite any reason for the delay of the delivery of the device. Their spokesperson only reported that the people who booked the tablet online will get its delivery in January.

DataWind has earlier also delayed the release of the device. They were supposed to launch the device earlier and were to be available in the retail stores by the end of November. Now we can expect the tab to be available in the store only by February.

The device was initially designed for students and was said to be available only to the students through their schools and colleges. But, now it is also for other customers and DataWind has also designed another model with some more enhanced features than the Aakash called the UbiStale7.

They had started to take online pre-orders for the UbiSlate7 and the Aakash was also said to be released and booking also started. But now delivery seems to be rescheduled to the next year. Many of the consumers who booked one of the devices also complained that they did not receive any kind of confirmation mail or call from the company.

Let’s hope the customers get their device in time as they have decided this time.
