AT&T to unveil 4G-enabled Windows 8 tablets
The next iteration of Windows is right around the corner and tablets sporting the operating system will now officially make an appearance at CES this year.
AT&T has announced that a 4G LTE tablet for its network will make a public showing at Las Vegas next week. The tablet will run Windows 8 as well as the Metro-style UI demonstrated at IDF 2011. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, but details such as RAM, screen size, connectivity features, cost and availability will all hopefully be unveiled within the next few days.
If Windows 8 tablets sporting Intel Atom CPUs make an appearance as well, it would certainly be interesting to compare any performance differences with the ARM-based AT&T tablet.
Notebookcheck will be on-site in Las Vegas this coming week, so expect an inundation of new announcements, products and hopefully surprises beginning Monday.
