AMD Turion II M540
The AMD Turion II M540 is a entry level Dual Core CPU by AMD for laptops with an integrated dual channel DDR2 memory controller (400MHz). The Caspian called core is only partly based on the K10 architecture. Compared to the Turion II Ultra CPUs, the M540 features only 1 MB shared Level 2 cache.
The performance of the Turion M540 should be in most benchmarks comparable to a 2.2-2.4 Ghz clocked Celeron Dual-Core T3300 / Pentium Dual Core. Still some programs may perform better than a similar clocked Core 2 Duo.
