Vivo has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone, the T4R, in the Indian market. Vivo’s latest midrange smartphone is the fifth member of the T4 series. Now, the Vivo T4 series consists of a total of five models, including the T4x 5G, the T4 5G, the T4 Ultra, the T4 Lite 5G, and the all-new T4R. Dimensionally, the device measures just 7.3 mm (0.28 inch) in thickness and weighs 183.5 grams (0.40 lbs).
This time around Vivo went with a MediaTek chipset for the T4R. To be more precise, the midrange smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage with no room for storage expansion. Software-wise, it runs Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 out of the box. Plus, the company also promises two major OS upgrades (Android 16 & 17) and three years of security updates.
Furthermore, the quad-curved AMOLED display measures 6.77 inches and sports a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels as well as a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Additionally, the panel delivers a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and is protected by Diamond Shield Glass. The device has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50 MP Sony IMX882 OIS-enabled primary camera and a 2 MP lens in order to create bokeh effects.
Meanwhile, the Vivo T4R boasts a 5,700 mAh battery with support for 44 W wired charging. Unfortunately, it lacks wireless charging support. Other features of the T4R include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, MIL-STD-810H certification, and IP68 and IP69 ratings.
Available in arctic white and twilight blue color options, the Vivo T4R starts at INR 19,499 ($220/€195) for the base 8 GB + 128 GB model and the top-end 12 GB + 256 GB variant is priced at INR 23,499 ($245/€215). The device will be available for purchase starting August 5 via Vivo India’s official website and other authorized retailers.
