Nikon has unveiled six new silver colorways for its Nikon Z f full-frame mirrorless digital camera. The color combinations include silver with black, cognac brown, mauve pink, moss green, sepia brown, stone gray, or teal blue.
The Z f uses an FX-format 35.9 mm x 23.9 mm full-frame sensor with 25.28 total megapixels and 24.5 effective megapixels. The camera uses Nikon's Z mount, a newer lens mount system introduced in 2018. An FTZ lens adapter is required to mount classic Nikon F mount lenses on the Z f body. A 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD panel with 2.1 million dots on the back can be flipped out and swiveled 170° to monitor shooting sessions.
The camera can capture JPEG images at up to 14 fps and 14-bit NEF/RAW images at up to 10 fps to SDHC/SDXC memory cards or microSDHC/microSDXC memory cards. It can also capture H.264/H.265 MP4 videos at up to 4K 60p. Files can be transferred over wired USB-C and wireless 802.11ac Wi-Fi connections to computers.
The sensor has a sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 204,800 in photo mode and ISO 100 to 51,200 in video mode. The sensor is coupled with a 299-point autofocus system that has a sensitivity of -10 to +19 EV and 5-axis image sensor shift vibration reduction. The hybrid contrast and phase-detection AF system leverages AI deep learning techniques to identify human, animal, and common objects and lock on quickly, according to Nikon.
The Nikon Z f in silver colorways can be pre-ordered for $2,199.95 on the Nikon website. Readers can also look for it in the Nikon store on Amazon after launch.
