A decent laptop with good looks but let down by a couple of flaws
Good points Very thin; decent performance; lots of memory and storage space
Bad points Not enormously powerful; washed-out screen; so-so keyboard; no CD or DVD drive

Medion’s Akoya S5612 notebook is available from 29 October from Aldi shops. Its 15.6in widescreen has an anti-glare coating but was disappointingly murky at first glance. On further inspection the default screen brightness was very low – when increased it was better, if still slightly washed out. A decent laptop with good looks but let down by a couple of flaws.

2.3 kg: These sub-notebooks weight less than the average of all notebooks, but represent a heavier class of weight among the sub-notebooks. 13 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
