LG V20: What do we know ahead of today's launch of the V20?
Not only Apple is still busy preparing for a smartphone launch this week, LG might also be prepping for today's V20 smartphone launch in San Francisco. It will continue what LG started with the V10 last year and offer a more sturdy multimedia optimized smartphone solution, this year it will also make smartphone history as the first smartphone to ever include Android 7 Nougat out of the box. Generally, there were very few leaks up to today's event. As for pictures, we have the render that Evan Blass leaked a few weeks ago (top right), then we have a sneak peak at a live model out of a promo video by LG and of course, the renders that Android Authority posted shortly after the V20 was first teased by LG. We also managed to get our hands on a couple of V20 cases that showed the V20 handset inside the case. Apparently, according to leaked information, LG will offer three different color options: Urban Grey, Sweet Silver and Romantic Pink.
Most likely, the V20 will feature a 5,7 inch QHD panel, the second tiny display at the top of the V10 will return once again. A Snapdragon 820 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 4.000 mAh battery should put this handset right into the top of this years flagship-lineup. Instead of offering dual cameras at the front, this years model will instead put them on the back and feature two 16 MP lenses apparently. LG already teased excellent multimedia capabilities, the V20 will come with a B&O headset and a special high quality digital to analog converter (DAC) for improved audio performance. A teaser showing Android Nougat's advantages when multitasking in the kitchen or elsewhere was posted by LG not long ago, it is linked below. Apparently, the V20 will be shipping September 23rd. Don't expect anything less than 600 bucks if you want to be among the first to get one.
