Deal | Free game giveaway: Adventure-strategy game with 8 hours of playtime now free-to-claim

Most fantasy games cast you as the hero. Not Ceville though - it makes you the un-chosen one - a mean-spirited ex-tyrant who’s been booted from the throne and thrown in a cell. But when your scheming ex-adviser hatches a plan to flood your kingdom with beasts, you’re the only one with the cunning (and ego) to stop him. Right now, you can add it to your Indiegala library for free, DRM-free, and keep it forever.
Released in 2009 and normally priced at $3.99 on Steam, Ceville is a colorful point-and-click adventure set in the fairy-tale land of Faeryanis. You’ll roam locations like the Not-So-Hidden druid circle, the former Elven Forest, and the Dwarven Mines of Mount Goldmore, solving puzzles that often require the teamwork of two or more playable characters.
As an overview, Ceville features:
- Up to three playable characters with eccentric personalities.
- A cast of bizarre side characters, from stockbroker dwarves to hippie elves.
- Multiple whimsical locations, including druid circles, elven forests, and dwarven mines.
- Cooperative puzzle-solving between characters.
Claiming it is as straightforward as it can be: you have to log into your Indiegala account, go to the "Freebies" section, hit "Add to Library" on the Ceville page, and it’ll show up in your Showcase section. From there, you can download it DRM-free, or grab it through the optional GalaClient beta.
The system requirements are minimal, making it an easy pick-up for any PC. And while it’s very much a product of its time visually, the writing and puzzle design should still hit for anyone who likes their adventures light-hearted and a little weird. More so, it’s a rare chance to play the bad guy - and still walk away the hero.
