Special edition Inspiron notebooks are first to receive Ivy Bridge; available today in select countries

Dell’s already upgraded their Alienware gaming lineup with Ivy Bridge, and it looks like the rest of the family is gearing up for the same treatment.

Hidden in a press release about the company’s new Ivy Bridge desktops (the XPS 8500 and Vostro 470), Dell announced the new Special Edition Inspiron 14R and 15R. The pair of notebooks come with a Stealth Black anodized aluminum exterior and palm rest, and will feature Intel’s 3rd Generation CPUs.

The devices won’t be making their way stateside for a while, but product pages have already appeared on the Singapore Dell.com website. For starters, the Inspiron 15R can be equipped with up to a Core i7-3612QM processor, up to 8GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD7730 GPU and an optional Full HD 1920x1080 resolution on its 15.6” display. On the other hand, the 14” Inspiron 14R offers much of the same but lacks a Full HD option and comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GT640M on the inside.

Both the 14R and 15R are available in two separate configurations, with the 14R starting at $1,047 ($1,299 Singapore) and the 15R beginning at $1,289 ($1,599 Singapore). The pair of notebooks can be purchased today from Dell.com in select Asian countries, with more regions to follow.
