We finally know when the next season of Dandadan is coming out! On July 3, 2025, anime fans will be able to stream Dandadan season 2 on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Considering the fact that the first season ended on a cliffhanger, there are more than a few people who have been chomping at the bit to watch the next episode of Dandadan.
The critically acclaimed show has already racked up accolades, from winning big at the Abema awards to being nominated for best anime of the year, along with 18 other nominations, by Crunchyroll.
We’ll have to wait until May 25 to see who wins at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, but for most people who have watched the first season of Dandadan, just getting a season 2 so quickly is reward enough.
The show, which first aired during the 2024 fall anime season, follows 2 high school students with seemingly opposing conspiracy theories they subscribe to. Momo Ayase believes in ghosts, while Ken Takakura, or Okarun, as Momo calls him, believes in aliens. Lo and behold, both exist, and both are a royal pain in the neck for the teens. Using ultra-special powers, Momo and Okarun team up to defend the Earth. The show quickly impressed audiences with its vibrant, genre-bending animation, excellent character designs, and its awesome soundtrack.
For anime fans who absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next in Dandadan, there are always the manga to turn to, which are well ahead of the show. There’s an even better option coming soon, though: a theatrical release across North America. GKids will coordinate the season 2 debut, Dandadan: Evil Eye, premiering the show in North American theaters on June 6, 2025. This isn’t a huge shock, since the first three episodes were similarly released in theaters in September 2024, but it’s still exciting for impatient fans.
The new season of Dandadan will pick up right where it left off, focusing on Momo's childhood friend, Jin "Jiji" Enjoji and the evil eye he is cursed with. Whether you plan on watching season 2 of Dandadan in theaters or in the comfort of your own home, this summer’s anime plans are already looking pretty promising.
