As of 03/09/2025, ChatGPT has been unavailable to most of its customers, globally. When checking X (formerly known as Twitter), we came across hundreds of users reporting issues when trying to access the service. Additionally, according to the statistics filed on Down Detector, thousands of reports were indeed registered, noting that the AI chatbot is failing to respond to prompts.
Users additionally took their voices to Reddit as frustrations mounted... One user wrote: "Yes, it shows only my messages and every response is missing on every chat I have!" Another wrote, "Same I can’t see any responses. Not even my previous ones."
Despite the user reports, OpenAI's service status page currently shows no issues, stating, "We’re fully operational." It remains unclear whether the problem is limited to a specific region or a more widespread, but unacknowledged, outage.
