Since its release nine years ago, No Man's Sky has received dozens of free updates that have expanded the game with tons of new content, spaceships, enemy species and game mechanics. The game's technology has also been extensively revamped since its release. Hello Games has now released another update, which the developers call "Voyagers".
Version 6.0 primarily introduces corvettes, a new ship class that players can assemble piece by piece, offering virtually unlimited creativity. These corvettes can not only be viewed from the outside, but users can also move freely inside the ships, something previously only possible on gigantic freighters. This is particularly useful for taking friends on a journey in multiplayer mode.
Another new feature is the ability to leave spaceships to take spacewalks or simply float through zero gravity. In the atmosphere, you can leave the ship to reach the planet's surface by parachuting. The new cockpit of the Titan-class is said to be particularly detailed and features numerous displays that provide real-time data about the spaceship and its surroundings. The new Thunderbird-class habitats are inspired by outlaws, with exposed wiring and makeshift wall coverings designed to create a looter atmosphere.
Those who complete the new corvette expedition will receive exclusive plasma drive modules, which don't provide a speed boost but look stylish. The update also introduces technical improvements, with transparent glass panels now looking better and the player character reflecting light more accurately. Thanks to the update, No Man's Sky now also supports Nvidia DLSS 4 and Sony PSSR when played in PlayStation VR 2.
