Asus now offering the K53TK notebook with an AMD A8-3520M chip in Japan

The portable PC apparently delivers a Quad-Core processor and a discrete Radeon GPU

The Taiwanese computer manufacturer Asus has reportedly started selling the K53TK-SX0A8 Llano-based laptop in Japan. According to a report from PCLaunches, the notebook is now available to customers; price starts at 79,800 JPY (about $980).

As mentioned above, the K53TK is powered by an AMD A8-3520M chip, which is part of AMD’s Fusion family of APUs (accelerated processing unit). It offers four physical cores that operate at a frequency of 1.6GHz (goes up to 2.5GHz through Turbo Core technology) and the integrated Radeon HD 6620G graphics card. Moreover, the laptop sports a 15.6-inch LED-backlit widescreen display with a native resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels and the powerful AMD Radeon HD 7670M GPU with 2GB of dedicated VRAM.

According to the company, this portable computer is further equipped with a DVD Burner (there’s also an optional Blu-ray Combo drive), 8GB of internal dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3 memory, a 750GB (up to 1TB @ 5400RPM) rotating hard drive and Altec Lansing speakers.

Built around an AMD A70M FCH chipset, the updated K53TK model features two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, D-SUB, an HDMI interface for watching HD content on an external HD monitor/HDTV, FireWire, a 4-in-1 card reader slot and a 1.3MP web camera for video calls.

The device supposedly weighs 2.7kg with the built-in battery that has an autonomy period of up to 4 hours after a single charge and comes with a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
