Amazon to release the Kindle Touch in Europe on the 27th of April
The Kindle Touch, said to have the most advanced, high contrast E-Ink screen by Amazon, will be hitting the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy on April 27th. The UK models of the popular e-reader will be the same as the ones previously released in the US, but with several software tweaks and bug fixes. The WiFi-only model and 3G model will be priced at £109 and £169 respectively. 3G connectivity on the 3G model will be powered by Vodafone in the UK and will not need a contract because the cost of using the network will be included in the selling price. Both models are available for pre-orders starting today.
The Kindle Touch has an easy-to-use touchscreen interface and a very sleek design. It is the first e-reader to come with something called as an 'X-Ray' feature. This feature lets you look up characters, historical figures, and interesting phrases in a book as well as detailed descriptions from Wikipedia and Shelfari, Amazon’s community-powered encyclopedia.
