The Ryzen 5 9500F has officially launched in China with impressive specifications that make it a competitive budget option. According to AMD's official Chinese product page, the processor features 6 cores and 12 threads built on AMD's latest Zen 5 architecture. The chip operates at a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and reaches a maximum boost frequency of 5.0 GHz. The chip has the same 32MB L3 cache configuration found in higher-end Ryzen 5 9000 series processors and operates at a 65W TDP.
The launch in China follows AMD's established pattern of testing new SKUs in specific markets. For instance, the Ryzen 5 7500F was initially launched exclusively in China before becoming more widely available. The company may follow a similar distribution strategy with its latest release.
As expected with the "F" series, the processor does not have integrated graphics. Instead, users are required to pair it with a dedicated graphics card. This design choice allows AMD to offer the chip at a more competitive price point while maintaining the full CPU performance capabilities of the Zen 5 architecture.
As far as performance is concerned, the initial benchmarks reveal substantial gains over the Ryzen 5 7500F, with the 9500F delivering 7% to 24% faster gaming performance. In Geekbench 6 testing, the processor achieved about 3,122 points in single-core performance and 14,369 points in multi-core scenarios. These scores place it close to the more expensive Ryzen 5 9600, which typically scores 3,166 points in single-core and 14,257 points in multi-core tests.
While AMD's official Chinese product page doesn't list specific pricing, online speculation suggests the Ryzen 5 9500F will target the sub-$200 market segment. However, recent retailer listings have shown prices around $217-218, which brings it closer to the Ryzen 5 9600X that currently sells for approximately $190-200.
