AMD Mobile Sempron M140
The AMD Sempron M140 is a cheap entry level laptop processor. It is based on the AMD Athlon II M340 Dual Core (Caspian core) but with only one activated processing core. Therefore, the CPU is also manufactured in 45nm SOI and features a Dual-Channel 400MHz DDR2 memory controller and a single 1600 MHz 16-Bit HyperTransport Link (HT3200). However, the Sempron does not feature the power saving function PowerNow which leads to a smaller battery runtime.
The performance is comparable to a 2.1-2.2 GHz single core Intel processor (e.g. Intel Celeron M 570) and therefore only suited for entry level tasks.
Specified with a 25 Watt TDP, the CPU is suited for laptops with a screen larger than 13".
