AMD V-Series V140 vs AMD V-Series V160 vs AMD V-Series V120

AMD V-Series V140

► remove from comparison

The AMD V-Series V140 (sometimes also called Sempron V140) is a single core processor for cheap laptops. It is based on the Champlain core, which should use a K10 architecture. As the dual core Athlon II P and N CPUs, the V140 offers only a 64 Bit FPU (Floating Point Unit). Therefore, the CPU also features an integrated DDR3 memory controller.

Compared to the slower (Atom counterpart) AMD V105, the V140 offers a much higher clock speed and a faster HyperTransport 3.0 link (with 1600 MHZ - HT3200). The performance should be on a level with a 2.2 GHz Celeron single core processor.

Specified at 25 Watt TDP, the processor can be used in notebooks with screens of 13 inches and up.
