Sony updates its S series laptops with Ivy Bridge and Kepler

The S Series model has two sizes of displays: 13.3 inch and 15.5 inch. The 13.3 inch display models do not have any resolution specified while the 15.5 inch model will have a 1080p IPS screen. The 13.3 inch model might be like the previous generation S Series; it will have 1600 x 900 pixels. It is known that the 15.5inch model will have Ivy Bridge Core i7-3612QM 2.1GHz quad core processor, 8GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GT 640M LE discrete GPU and Intel’s HD Graphics 4000 integrated chip. Along with these features it 1TB of storage on board, b=Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, a single 2.0 port and a 1.31 megapixel webcam. The SDD storage options will be common in both the models.
The smaller version of the laptop is still in closed books at present but it is known that we will have a choice to select the processors between i5 and i7. With both the laptops Sony will provide a docking station that features a 500GB hard drive and sheet battery that will have a battery life up to 14 hours.
The new VAIO E Series models will come in sizes of 15 and 17 inches. These models are powered by Sandy Bridge Core i5-2450M processor and will be paired with 6GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 7650M graphics card. It's just a matter of time we will get the other configuration too. The screen resolution of the 15 inch model is 1366 x 768 pixels and 17 inches at 1600 x 900 pixels. They have a storage capacity of 750GB, while the 17 inch model has a Blu-ray drive along with a DVD combo unit for the 15 inch laptops.
The price range of the new models is expected to be same as the current E Series 14 model which starts at $459.99, S Series 13 in $749.99 and S Series 15 at $979.99.
