The new portable PCs are apparently designed “with a total emphasis on slimness” and packing Ivy Bridge chips

The Japanese tech company Fujitsu is expanding its LifeBook lineup with five new notebooks. Reportedly, the manufacturer will launch the UH family of Ultrabooks, the SH Series of thin and light 13.3-inch laptops with built-in DVD Burners and the AH78/HA model, which the maker describes as the “industry's first notebook PC to incorporate a "nanoe" air purification unit”. Furthermore, Fujitsu unveiled the F-Plug power adapter (compatible with the LifeBook AH family) that supposedly lets you monitor your power consumption.

According to a company press release, the “Made in Japan” UH family consists of the 14-inch UH75/H and the 13.3-inch UH55/H Ultrabooks (both panels with 1366-by-768 pixels native resolution). The UH75/H has a thickness of 15.6mm (about 0.61in) and Fujitsu claims this is the world’s thinnest LCD notebook. Furthermore, it weighs 1.44kg, offers a battery life of up to 9.1 hours on a single charge and is driven by a high-performance third generation (Ivy Bridge) Intel Core central processing unit.

Both models reportedly feature a magnesium alloy clamshell and are built using a so-called Ultra Compressed Grid Construction technology for enhanced durability.

Next in line is the SH Series, which is also represented by two notebooks: the LifeBook SH54/H and LifeBook SH76/H that sport 13.3-inch widescreen LCD HD displays (1366-by-768 pixels). The latter supposedly weighs 1.34kg and measures 23.2mm (0.91in) at its thickest point. In addition, the SH76/H is equipped with a battery pack that has an impressive autonomy period of up to 14 hours. Both lightweight and slim devices in this family come with an unspecified Intel processor accompanied by built-in 128GB SSD and DVD Super Multi optical drive.

And in case you are looking for a laptop that can purify air, you might want to check out the LifeBook AH78/HA model. This is a high-performance portable PC that features a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920-by-1080 pixels) widescreen display and a third generation Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU that incorporates four physical cores (2.3GHz – 3.3GHz) complemented by the integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics card.

The interesting thing about this notebook is that it comes with a built-in “nanoe” air purification unit that apparently helps in reducing “fungi, smells, viruses, mold, and allergens such as pollen and mites”.

Other specs of the AH78/HA include 8GB of internal DDR RAM, 1TB HDD, a Blu-ray Burner, three USB 3.0 ports and a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
