Our test routine

Arkham City conveniently has an integrated benchmark under the options of the game. It takes about one minute and displays average, minimum and maximum frame rate.

Analysis of the Benchmarks

Despite the old Unreal-Engine 3 the action title looks extremely good with maximum details, active DirectX 11 and manifold antialiasing. However, it can only be played with a true high-end graphics card. Even for high details, a moderate resolution of 1366 x 768 a high-end graphics cards is indeed required (e.g. GeForce GTX 560M). 

If you do not need DirectX 11 and choose medium details, you can play Arkham City with a "standard" GPU like the GeForce GT 540M. Low-end graphics cards like the HD Graphics 3000 integrated in Intel's Sandy Bridge processor suffice low detail settings.
