Arduino has added a new single-board computer to the UNO family called the Arduino UNO Q. It comes with a host of connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB-C. At its heart, it uses a Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210 microprocessor with four Arm Cortex-A53 CPU cores and an unspecified Adreno GPU. An STMicroelectronics STM32U585 microcontroller with one Arm Cortex-M33 accompanies it.
Initially, the Arduino UNO Q will be launched with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB eMMC storage. A variant with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage is due to arrive soon. By default, the USB-C port can double up as a camera input and video output, but one can also use dedicated pins to free up the port. On the other hand, microphones will always need to use a pin.
On the software front, the Arduino UNO Q runs Zephyr OS and interfaces with its Memory Protection Unit via Debian. The company has also unveiled its new Arduino App Lab software that runs on all popular operating systems. Its price and availability will be announced at a later date.
