MagyarXiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro specs sheets leak as Xiaomi teases new floating telephoto camera
Information about the Xiaomi 13 series is arriving thick and fast, with Xiaomi showcasing camera samples and confirming more specifications earlier today. Subsequently, the company has outlined how the new telephoto camera in the Xiaomi 13 Pro works, which it describes as featuring a ‘floating lens’. Embedded below, the 20-second video highlights the camera’s two moving lens groups; typically, telephoto cameras have one.
With a motor used to obtain focus, the lens elements can adjust to capture objects as little as 10 cm away from the lens or into the distance with 3x optical zoom. Purportedly, Leica has had a hand in developing the camera solution rather than just lending its expertise to improving the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s camera software. Meanwhile, a video allegedly showing a Xiaomi 13 Pro retail unit has surfaced on Weibo. Reposted to YouTube by Sparrows News, the short clip shows the handset booting up, as well as a few specifications shown within the main Settings menu.
Incidentally, the specifications displayed match those leaked by @liujianjian29. While Xiaomi has already confirmed LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 flash storage and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for both Xiaomi 13 series smartphones, the spec sheets reproduced below reveal precise battery, camera, display and footprint details. In short, there are a few differences between the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, with the latter offering a larger battery, higher quality display and faster charging capabilities than the former. Currently, it is unknown when Xiaomi will reveal either smartphone, with the company postponing tomorrow’s launch event.
