Rumor | Vivo X Flip all set to launch as new clamshell foldable Android smartphone with 44W charging brick in the box
Vivo is the latest OEM projected to add a new device to its portfolio of high-end Android devices that might incorporate the large round X-series camera hump in a new clamshell form-factor. This "X Flip" may now be ready to make its official debut, with specs to help it compete with Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip4 market leader.
It is also now tipped to beat its rival in terms of battery life and charging speed as well as cover display size, having reportedly shown up on the 3C device safety database with its alleged V2256A model number and a power brick rated for an 11V/4A, or 44W, top rate.
This would make the "Vivo X Flip" equal to the OPPO Find N2 Flip in terms of wired charging speeds; furthermore, the former is said to ship with a 4,400mAh battery, compared to the 4,300mAh of the latter. The latest leaks do nothing to confirm other rumored specs such as a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, although they do purport to confirm 5G connectivity and an Android-based OS.
Unsurprisingly, the X Flip is thought to launch with a new version of OriginOS for clamshells, and to come and join its foldable Vivo siblings on the market by April 2023.
