Upcoming Asus U82U Ultraportable brings AMD CPU

Teaser
The new laptop from Asus -the U82U will be a lightweight Ultrabook carrying one of the best powered CPU.

Asus has upcoming plans for launching a new thin and light laptop soon in 2012, but as for the Asus U82U – it won’t be a member of the Asus Zenbook of Ultrabooks as Intel, the chip maker holds the trademark on those Ultrabooks, and on the other hand the U82U will be powered by an AMD processor.

The Asus Facebook fan page suggests that the company shall provide the users with a lightweight Netbook bearing a 14inch display and a pretty cost-effective price. The new Asus U82U shall not be as delicate as the other Ultrabooks launched by the company, with its weight falling somewhere around 4 pounds. The Asus Zenbook US31 is just a 2.9 pounds and even cheaper than the U82U.

The lightweight laptop will mainly possess an AMD E-450 dual core processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, 2 USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI port, 8 cell battery for its life and a 500 GB hard drive, with the other specifications varying from one region to another.

According to the user manual supplied by the Asus support on its Support site, the battery should be easily removable and there would also be an access panel on the bottom of the laptop which shall definitely make the RAM and hard drive upgrades a lot easier.
