ViewSonic to unveil the ViewPad G70 at MWC 2012

With the 2012 Mobile World Congress looming, we keep on hearing about new products that are expected to debut next week. According to a report from Pocket-Lint, the California-headquartered consumer electronics manufacturer ViewSonic Corporation will be launching an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-running tablet, dubbed ViewPad G70.  

Apparently, the G70 will be coming with a 7-inch touchscreen display that has a maximum supported resolution of 1024-by-600 pixels (pixel density of 169ppi) and an ultra-light design. There is still no word on what the central processing unit will be, but considering the fact that the tablet comes with 1GB of internal memory, it better be a Dual-Core one. 

The device will reportedly also house 4GB of storage, which users can further expand (up to 32GB) by utilizing the integrated microSD card reader slot. Other features include built-in microUSB and mini-USB ports, a mini-HDMI interface for watching Full HD videos on an external HD monitor or TV and dual cameras. A “source” has told Pocket-Lint that the rear camera is 2MP.

The 3G-enabled ViewPad G70 will presumably have an ICS OS with ViewSonic’s own ViewScene 3D user interface on top. Moreover, the tablet will be Google-approved, which means you will have access to the Android Market.

The maker is likely to disclose more information about the new slate at MWC in Barcelona (including a release date and pricing).
