The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra may trump the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus in two aspects

Leaks about the Galaxy S22 series continue, with Samsung's next flagships being tipped for release by early next year at the latest. Last month, several leakers discussed the display sizes of the series, as we covered at the time. While the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra are still expected to feature 6.06-inch, 6.55-inch and 6.81-inch displays respectively, there are some updates in the series' development.

Reputedly, Samsung is still debating with which SoC to equip the Galaxy S22 series in South Korea. While the Exynos 2200 would be the obvious choice because it is a Samsung chip, the Snapdragon 898 remains a 'high possibility'. @FrontTron states that Samsung will decide at the last moment, indicating that it is developing Exynos and Snapdragon versions of the Galaxy S22 series.

However, low yields of the Exynos 2200 may force Samsung only to use it in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Other markets, such as the US, would probably still receive only Snapdragon models, though. Additionally, Samsung's next Ultra smartphone will be the only one in the Galaxy S22 series to offer an Under Display Camera (UPC). Seemingly, this would provide Samsung with another way of distinguishing the Galaxy S22 Ultra from the cheaper options in the Galaxy S22 series.
