Tesla's Elon Musk rides a Cybertruck ahead of the electric pickup top model's price unveiling

Tesla's CEO Elon Musk is expected to make an exception to his newly minted rule for skipping the EV maker's quarterly press conference sessions with investors. He will be taking the stage to issue a long-awaited list of updates about Tesla's EV and battery production roadmap for the next several quarters. What Tesla fans may be waiting most on, however, seems to be the rumored Cybertruck production plans update.

Tesla's electric pickup truck was expected to be released in 2022, but rumored delays may have postponed its launch for 2023. Not only that, but Tesla's flamboyant CEO could be revealing the price of the top quad-motor Cybertruck model, the only one left unsaid after such a version was teased last year. It seems that Elon Musk knows where the public's interests lie and tweeted this morning that he has "been driving latest Cybertruck prototype around Giga Texas," as if to preview that the electric pickup will be a main topic of conversation today.

So far, the rumors about the Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup delay are just that - rumors - and Elon Musk could mention that the production plans are on track. Or, as is the Tesla CEO's habit, he could be giving those who preordered the Cybertruck and brought revenue larger than BMW's market cap something to chew on while they wait. Yesterday, a walkaround video of the Cybertruck leaked out and there were quite a few changes from the original concept, but it remains to be heard if Elon Musk has ridden the same prototype that you can see in the video below.
