Samsung Galaxy M40 pops up in GeekBench tests

Even though the Galaxy M30 model was announced only a few months ago, it looks like Samsung is almost ready to launch a successor as hinted by the SM-M405F model that made a recent appearance on GeekBench.

The GeekBench results only offer information about the SoC, RAM and OS, but Nashville Chatter also mentions some other rumored specs. From what we can see in the GeekBench info, the M40 model is powered by the Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM, which helped it score 2,372 points in single-core tests and 6,440 in multi-core tests.

For the rumored specs, Nashville Chatter suggests that the highest storage option could have 128 GB, while the display may be bigger than the 6.4-inch one found on the M30 model. The rear cam setup may have 3 or 4 sensors, and the selfie cam housed in a teardrop notch will probably have the same 16 MP sensor. Since the M40 is supposed to have better specs than the M30, it is safe t assume that the 5,000 mAh battery will not be downgraded, and the fingerprint reader will remain on the back.

As far as prices go, the new M40 will most likely be priced around ~US$300, as the M30 is currently going for ~US$259 in India. A possible launch date could come some time in Q2 2019.
