POCO X5 5G and Redmi Note 12 5G leak as similar devices, with Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G to replace Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023
Last week, Xiaomiui revealed IMEI database listings for the POCO X5 Pro, which will also launch in China under Xiaomi's Redmi brand. Unsurprisingly, Xiaomi has also developed a POCO X5, the specifications of which have not leaked yet. However, the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM Berhad) has revealed the POCO X5 5G as 22111317PG, a global model that should be available in multiple countries.
As Gizmochina notes, the POCO X5 5G could be a re-branded Redmi Note 12 5G, which carries the model number 22101317C in China and 22111317G globally. Incidentally, SIRIM Berhad only recently published its listing for the Redmi Note 12 5G. In other words, the POCO X5 and Redmi Note 12 5G may launch around the same time, although not necessarily in the same markets.
Meanwhile, Xiaomiui has unearthed the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G, which the website observed in September as the Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023. Allegedly, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G and Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 are identical save their names, which is to say that the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G will be a reworked Redmi Note 10 Pro. Currently, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G is expected to launch with MIUI 13 based on Android 11, a decision that underlines that device's outdated feature set. A launch date has not leaked yet, although Xiaomiui asserts that it may debut sometime in Q1 2023.
