The most anticipated LG's premiere at this year's MWC trade show in Barcelona is, without a doubt, the flagship LG G5. However, the company has just announced it is not going to stop there and will also debut two handsets from the new LG X series. Named LG X cam and LG X screen, the new devices are designed "for customers who do not want or need all the bells and whistles that come with today's high-end phones."

The LG X cam is the larger of the new duo, featuring a 5.2-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The phone will be powered by a yet undisclosed octa-core processor clocked at 1.14 GHz coupled with 2 GB of storage and 16 GB of internal storage space (partly taken by the Android 6.0 operating system). As the name suggests, the LG X cam is focused on photo functionality. It will carry not one, but two rear-facing cameras (they will probably allow post-shoot refocusing or very shallow depth-of-field effect). One of them will use a 13 MP and the other a 5 MP sensor. The LG X cam will come with a 2,250 mAh battery and will be available in silver, white, gold and pink gold color versions.

The other new handset, LG X screen, will come with a secondary, 1.76-inch screen on top of the main, 4.93-inch 720p one. The additional screen will display notifications, time, weather and battery status without having to turn on the phone, similarly to the secondary screen in LG V10. The device will be powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU (also unspecified model) paired with 2 GB of RAM and carrying 16 GB of storage, also with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The LG X screen will feature a 2,300 mAh battery.

Both phones are scheduled to officially launch on February 22nd, a day after the LG G5 event. They should hit the shelves in Asia, Europe and Latin America in March. Naturally, pricing remains unknown at this point.
