Reviews for the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook 11IGL05

80% Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook review
Source: Techradar English
Alongside the Celeron chip is 4GB of system memory and just 64GB of eMMC-style storage. All told, it’s a pretty unimpressive technical line up that represents a bottom-rung Intel-powered solution. Were this a Windows laptop or convertible, that would be enough to have us running for the hills. However, the Chrome OS environment is both less demanding and also cloud-centric. So, outright performance and local storage are not as critical. All of which means that the subjective experience is much better than you’d get in the Windows environment with the same hardware. The Lenovo Flex 3 feels pretty responsive, whether it’s streaming video or working in Google Docs. In tablet mode, the touchscreen functionality is fairly slick, with only occasional stuttering from the interface when swiping or scrolling. As for battery life, this is one seriously long lasting machine, notching up over 16 hours of video playback. Ultimately, it all comes back to that context.

80% Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook review: As simple as it gets
Source: The Indian Express English
Lenovo is clearly pushing the IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook for kids or those new to the PC market. The target audience like parents and first-time PC owners may not go beyond the certain budget they have set for studies. And it’s quite clear why Chromebooks are in high demand. I get that: the price does matter to end consumers. But if you are buying a notebook, make sure you take the final decision based on the need and requirement. For someone who needs a lightweight laptop for light work and wants to be in the Google ecosystem should get the IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook.

70% Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3i review: Gets the job done
Source: Gadgets Now English
For most users who want their laptops to get the job done without too many hiccups, the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3i is a solid option. It’s a convertible device and that gives you a 2-in-1 experience, which is not something you will get at this price point. ChromeOS is an easy to use platform and if you’re an Android user, the integration is simple and you can do a lot more on this laptop. At Rs 28,990, it’s not too difficult to recommend this laptop. We ended up like a lot of things that most users look out for — battery life, lag-free performance and a nice-looking design. If you are in the market for a laptop that is around Rs 30,000, then the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3i is worth a dekko.

Lenovo's IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook proves that as long as you're willing to overlook a small, dim display, you can have an otherwise excellent 2-in-1 convertible Chromebook for less than $350.

Model:

While 11.6-inch laptops are considered the smallest common laptop size today, this format is definitely becoming rarer since the notebook hype has subsided. However, the role of such laptops in the field of education with its ultra-low-price segment can never be denied. The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11lGL05 is the latest addition to the small-laptop family. One of the uniquenesses of this laptop has to be its design without a fan. While not having a fan is quite usual for devices with this kind of configuration, it is rare for laptops overall. However, this is absolutely great news for users who are sensitive to noise, giving them a premium user experience with a basic setup.

In terms of its case, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11 is completely made of plastic, as expected in its price range. The back of the display and the area around the keyboard have a rather smooth plastic with a silvery brushed look, but the sides and bottom of the laptop are covered by slightly roughened matte grey plastic. It should also be noted that the base and display of the laptop cannot be twisted much. The display was never meant to handle too much strain, as any excessive pressure may cause it to get a bit dented.

As far as connectivity is concerned, this laptop has not been incorporated with a USB Type-C port. However, the two USB ports that are included within this model support the USB-3.0 standard, and there is also a microSD slot. In terms of its keyboard, it comes in a smaller size with some keys being significantly smaller. The pressure points are defined, and the keyboard does not give way while typing. While there is no digitizer pen included within this model, the 10-point touchscreen works flawlessly and provides a great alternative to the ClickPad situated right below the keyboard.

As for the display, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11.6-inch model comes with two display choices: an HD panel with a 1366 x 768 resolution or a Full-HD screen. It is worth noting that both the panels are based on IPS technology and are glossy due to a glass panel in front of the screen. In terms of its internal components, the laptop has been equipped with an Intel Celeron N4020 along with Intel UHD Graphics 600. The Intel Celeron N4020 is a dual-core processor built on the Gemini Lake architecture. It has a typical maximum power consumption of six watts and clock rates in the range of 1.1 to 2.8 GHz. The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11 also has 64 GB of soldered eMMC memory. While this laptop is a great option for its low price, the choice of owning one is still subjective, depending on the user’s choice and preference.

Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

Intel UHD Graphics 600: Integrated low-end graphics adapter with DirectX 12 support, which can be found in some ULV SoCs from the Gemini Lake series. Compared to the HD Graphics 500, the 600 offers improved display outputs. Compared to the faster UHD Graphics 605, the 600 offers less shaders at lower clock speeds.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Celeron N4020: A slow dual-core processor (SoC) of the Gemini Lake refresh product family. The Celeron runs at 1.1 GHz to 2.8 GHz and features a DirectX 12 capable UHD Graphics 600 integrated graphics adapter. An undeniably low-end product, this CPU is designed for use in laptops and mini-PCs of the most affordable kind.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

11.60":

This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.

75%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
