Jingling reduces the JingPad A1 tablet by 45% following bootloader unlock and Android ROM source code publication

Last year, Jingling brought the JingPad A1 to market, an 11-inch tablet that ran Linux. Initially sold through Indiegogo, Jingling eventually started selling the JingPad A1 on its Shopify store. Currently, the JingPad A1 costs US$699, but Jingling is offering 45% off with the discount code NEWYEAR.

As the screenshots below show, the discount reduces the JingPad A1 with a JingPad Pencil to US$384.45 before shipping and taxes. Alternatively, the tablet costs US$494.45 with a JingPad Pencil and JingPad Keyboard. According to Liliputing, the NEWYEAR discount code will remain valid until February 10. However, the website adds that staff redundancies mean that JingOS will not receive as much support as it previously enjoyed.

For example, Jingling no longer plans to release an x86 version of JingOS, having recently announced JingOS V1.2. Jingling has unlocked the JingPad A1's bootloader though, the instructions for which you can read in a related blog post. Also, the company has published the tablet's Android ROM source code, so the JingPad A1 is not tied to JingOS, should support for the OS end.
