Honor has introduced the X40 5G in its home market. Equipped with a 120 Hz AMOLED display, the Honor X40 5G also features a 5,100 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 695 chipset and up to 12 GB of RAM. Honor has decided to offer the X40 5G in four memory configurations and in four colours, too.

Honor has presented the X40, or X40 5G, as it often refers to the device in its marketing materials. Revealed in four colours, the Honor X40 5G measures 161.6 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 172 g, within which it features a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display. According to Honor, the large panel operates at 2,400 x 1,080 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate in a 20:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, Honor has included an 8 MP front-facing camera, which it complements with 50 MP primary and 2 MP auxiliary rear-facing cameras.

Moreover, Honor includes a 5,100 mAh battery that powers a Snapdragon 695 chipset and its Adreno 619 GPU. For reference, the Honor X40 5G supports up to 40 W wired charging but lacks wireless charging capabilities. Incidentally, all models ship with Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12, which allows people to set up to 7 GB of virtual RAM. Although Honor may advertise the devices as supporting up to 19 GB of RAM, virtual RAM is another phrase for a page file.

The Honor X40 5G starts at CNY 1,499 (~US$214) in China with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and rises to CNY 1,699 (~US$243) for an 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage variant. Alternatively, the company offers the device with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for CNY 1,999 (~US$286) and a 12 GB of RAM version for CNY 2,299 (~US$329). Unfortunately, Honor has not confirmed whether it intends to release the X40 5G globally yet. Based on other recent smartphone releases, only one or two memory configurations will be made available outside China, though.
