An upcoming IQOO 7 smartphone powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 has made a devastating appearance on the AnTuTu benchmark by clocking over three-quarters of a million points. This puts the IQOO 7, which is to be launched on January 11, beyond the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ with their Kirin 9000 chipsets.

An alleged IQOO 7 smartphone, which is scheduled to be launched on January 11, has been recorded delivering incredible results on AnTuTu, racking up a score of 752,935 points. This puts the Vivo sub-brand device way ahead of the competition in the benchmark’s charts, although it should be pointed out that all the entrants in the table have gained their position through the average score of many tests. However, the IQOO 7’s maximum result to date is still far ahead of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+’s average score of 698,654 points.

This is equivalent to a +7.77% result difference in favor of the IQOO 7, which is due to a combination of the presence of a Snapdragon 888 and other high-end components. While much of the CPU and GPU scores are down to the chipset, the MEM score is driven by the RAM and storage and the UX score is affected by the display specifications and OS. Thanks to 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage the IQOO 7 is strong in the MEM portion and the 120 Hz screen and Android 11 help things along in the UX section.

But how good is the Snapdragon 888 in the IQOO 7 compared to the Kirin 9000 in the Huawei Mate 40 Pro devices, bearing in mind it’s a theoretical maximum performance versus average at the moment? The CPU and GPU scores for the likely IQOO 7 are 200,616 points and 340,539 points, respectively. These stand up well against the Kirin 9000 in the Mate 40 Pro+ at 189,981 points and 300,857 points, respectively. This leaves the SD 888 at +5.60% (CPU) and +13.19% (GPU), hinting that the Adreno 660 in the Qualcomm SoC can easily handle the Kirin's ARM Mali-G78 MP24 in graphics-processing comparisons.
