Snapdragon 865 Plus-wielding Lenovo Legion with 16 GB RAM rockets past the Snapdragon 865-powered occupants of AnTuTu's flagship performance chart

The powerful combination of a Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone and an apparent Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC has been reported about on Weibo thanks to AnTuTu. Devs at the benchmark site revealed that a Lenovo smartphone with the model code L79031 was spotted racking up 648,871 points, which would put it at the head of the AnTuTu flagship performance chart currently led by the OPPO Find X2 Pro on 608,049 points.

Of course, the Snapdragon 865 opponents presently situated in AnTuTu’s flagship chart have attained their positions through an average score of multiple test results, so it will be a while before a more realistic measurement can be taken of the Lenovo Legion’s performance. However, what’s also interesting here is yet another appearance of the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset and that it is the graphics score that seemingly does the Legion gaming phone proud in this instance.

The report from AnTuTu states that the CPU part of the Snapdragon 865 Plus didn’t make much difference over the Snapdragon 865 for the CPU score. However, the GPU performance was markedly better, which you would expect from a gaming-focused device. Both of these Snapdragon chipsets supposedly come with an Adreno 650 GPU part, so it appears that Lenovo has managed to squeeze more juice out of it for its Legion smartphone.

The AnTuTu benchmark report also reveals a huge 16 GB RAM (LPDDR5) for the Lenovo Legion along with 512 GB storage (UFS 3.1). With a display capable of a reported 144 Hz refresh rate and a considerable 5,000-mAh battery on board, it appears the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus has some high-end components to play along with.
