Another Android 11-related list concerning Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones has been allegedly leaked online. While we have already reported about a similar list detailing which devices from the Chinese OEM will enjoy an Android 11-based MIUI 12 update, this time the news isn’t so good for owners of smartphones such as the Xiaomi Mi CC9e or the Redmi Note 7 Pro, as apparently there will be no Android 11 update for them. The list of phones that won’t be getting Android 11 is purportedly as follows:
- Xiaomi Mi CC9e
- Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 8
- Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7/7S
- Redmi 8, Redmi 8A Dual, Redmi 8A
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G
- Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha
The latter two devices are actually recorded as EOL (End of Life). If this list is at all accurate, it will come as a blow to many who were expecting an OS update, especially owners of devices from the hugely popular Redmi Note 8 series. The Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8T, and Redmi Note 8 are barely a year old, having been released at the end of August 2019. But there is a note in the list (see image below) that states Redmi/Redmi Note devices get just one major update.
