AMD Phenom II X3 P860 vs AMD Phenom II X3 N850 vs AMD Phenom II X3 N870

AMD Phenom II X3 P860

► remove from comparison

The AMD Phenom II X3 P860 is a tripple core processor for laptops that clocks with 2 GHz. It is based on the desktop Athlon II X3 processors (at a lower clock speed) and therefore features no level 3 cache. The low clock speed and missing level 3 cache leads to a rather slow performance, but enables the use in smaller laptops (14", 15") due to the TDP of 25 Watt. The performance should be on average between a 1.9 GHz and 2.5 GHz Core 2 Duo depending on how many cores are used.

The Phenom II P860 features an integrated DDR3 memory controller (on die).

AMD Phenom II X3 N850

► remove from comparison

The AMD Phenom II X3 N850 is a tripple core processor for laptops that clocks with 2.2 GHz. It is based on the desktop Athlon II X3 processors (at a lower clock speed) and therefore features no level 3 cache. The performance should be on average on par with an old Core 2 Quad Q9000. The lack of a Turbo Boost / Core function and level 3 cache and the slow core clock limit the performance of the CPU. In single threaded applications, the performance is only as fast as a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo (CB10) or even slower (SuperPi). Compared to a modern Core i3-330M, the N850 stays nearly always below (except in the CB11.5).

The Phenom II feature an integrated DDR3 memory controller on die (maximum DDR3-1333) and is manufactured in 45nm SOI (Core i3-330M 32nm).

AMD Phenom II X3 N870

► remove from comparison

The AMD Phenom II X3 N870 is a tripple core processor for laptops that clocks with 2.3 GHz. In single threaded applications, the performance is only as fast as a 2.1 GHz Core 2 Duo (CB10) or even slower (SuperPi). Compared to a modern Core i3-330M, the N870 stays nearly always below (except in the CB11.5).

The Phenom II feature an integrated DDR3 memory controller on die (maximum DDR3-1333) and is manufactured in 45nm SOI (Core i3-330M 32nm).
