OnePlus will include chargers in its boxes this year; OnePlus 9 and OnePlus Pro 9 to retain 4,500 mAh battery capacities from last year's models

Max Jambor, of AllAboutSamsung, has corroborated that the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will retain their predecessors' battery capacities. As we spoke about last month, DigitalChatStation claimed that OnePlus' next flagship smartphones would have 4,500 mAh batteries, putting them slightly short of the capacities that competitors like the Galaxy S21 series offer. Similarly, the Mi 11 has a 4,600 mAh battery, although a 100 mAh difference is a minor advantage for the Mi 11 at best.

Jambor also claims that OnePlus will bundle chargers with the 9 series. While this would go without saying a year ago, Samsung's decision to copy Apple in not including chargers with its S21 series implied that other Android OEMs would follow suit. With OnePlus and Xiaomi not doing so, it seems that most Android smartphones should continue to come with chargers, at least for the time being.

The wattage of OnePlus' chargers remains unclear, though. However, we would expect the company to continue offering at least 65 W ones with its flagship smartphones. OnePlus appears to consider wireless charging a premium feature, so its Pro smartphone will probably continue to be the only one in its product stack to support the technology.
