Mobvoi's first pair of headphones is both ANC and wireless

Mobvoi has just announced another new product: the TicKasa wireless headphones. They feature active noise cancellation (ANC), which is delivered by a sub-set of the device's 5 microphones. Bluetooth 5 is also supported here, along with the aptX, aptX HD and AAC codecs.

They are powered by the Qualcomm QCC3031 audio chipset, which also means it has this OEM's cVc HD technology for calls. Mobvoi also claims they are made of "premium materials", soft ear cushions and a  breathable mesh for wearer comfort over time. Additionally, they are designed to be able to fold away when not in use.

Therefore, it seems this new pair of wireless headphones has many advantages within its market. On the other hand, they lack voice assistant support. This might be fine by some consumers, but also means there are no hands-free controls. In addition, they are charged using an outdated microUSB port.

This is particularly unfortunate as they have a battery that, while rated for up to 30 hours of playback, needs an estimated 4 hours to charge. For buyers who can live with this, these new Mobvoi TicKasas are set at US$129.99 and come in black or gray finishes. However, the brand has supplied an introductory promo code - ANCMHP10 - that takes 10% off this price until July 22, 2020.
