Let's face it - the Pro Stand will probably still sell like hotcakes, but that won't stop competitors from having their fun with the ridiculous comparisons. The 34-inch 5K MSI monitor retails for $1299 with an actual display and stand compared to Apple's anemic offering.

It's easy to poke fun at Apple's ridiculous launch prices. The $1000 iPhone X, for example, was frequently ridiculed by enthusiasts prior to launch before the four-digit price point eventually became commonplace for flagship Android smartphones as well. The now infamous $1000 Apple Pro Stand, however, is a little egregious even for Apple.

MSI Australia couldn't help themselves and recently tweeted a comparison between its 34-inch MSI Prestige PS341WU HDR600-certified monitor against Apple's overpriced monitor stand. We wouldn't exactly call it original, but it definitely gets the point across by adding more fuel to the already hilarious fire that Apple can only blame themselves for starting.

After sitting comfortably in the gaming market for years, MSI has been swiftly expanding into the world of digital content creators and CAD professionals with its W series of mobile workstations and color accurate monitors like the aforementioned PS341WU. The Prestige family targets a very similar userbase who may be considering a MacBook Pro or iMac for professional work and this looked to be a quick and easy way to get the word out there.
