The Caspian called core should be only partly based on the K10 architecture. Compared to the Turion II CPUs, the Athlon II feature a slower HyperTransport Link (1600 MHz). 

The performance of the Athlon II M360 should be comparable to a 2.1 GHz Pentium. The Athlon II series has the advantage of 64 Bit support and hardware Virtualization support. The cheap Intel CPUs are often stripped down and dont feature these functions.

The performance of the Athlon II M300 should be comparable to an old Merom based 1.8 Ghz Core 2 Duo. Compared to cheap Celeron Dual Core models by Intel, the Athlon II series has the advantage of 64 Bit support and hardware Virtualization support.
