The March 2019 Steam Hardware & Software Survey has been posted by the software distribution platform, and as usual things look rosy for Nvidia in the video card usage category. Three of the top six places in terms of percentage increase over the month are occupied by GeForce RTX 20 series products, with last month’s missing RTX 2060 now taking the top spot.

Steam’s monthly survey is a handy indicator as to how a manufacturer’s products are faring. There was some concern among observers that the seemingly poor figures initially produced by RTX 20 series GPUs were signs that Nvidia had a costly failure on its hands. However, all the current GeForce RTX 20 series cards have experienced growth this month, suggesting that things aren't actually too bad for the green team's Turing-based lineup.

The GeForce RTX 2060 has pushed its way to the top with its first entry, with a figure of 0.27%. However, as this is the first month this particular graphics card has appeared in the chart, then it’s easier for it to record a decent growth percentage. But the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080, which have both appeared in the survey over the last few months, have also recorded increases in growth, at 0.15% and 0.10%, respectively. If you factor in the 0.05% growth for the RTX 2080 Ti then it seems fair to deduce that RTX 20 series sales are climbing.

The highest placed non-Nvidia product in terms of monthly growth was the ever popular AMD Radeon RX 580, which rose by 0.16%. Last month’s clear leader, the GeForce GTX 1060, slumped in March as it lost 0.32% of its usage share. However, it still remains the most popular video card in the survey for overall percentage share, with the top 11 places being occupied by GeForce GTX hardware. Manufacturer share saw Nvidia lose a little, falling from 75.2% to 74.75%. This shortfall seems to have been picked up by AMD and Intel, who both experienced tiny bumps of growth for the month.
