Hype around affordable mobile display 'Gemini' on Kickstarter

Every now and then there is a project on Kickstarter that seem relatively unimpressive at first glance, but then really goes through the roof because they simply fill a gap in the market for which there are no products yet. Now the Chinese company Taihe also seems to experience such a small hype around their new product.

Taihe has developed a mobile display with a battery life of up to 5 hours. The cheapest version has a Full HD Touchscreen, USB Type C and will only cost about 160 Dollar. But there will also be a second slightly thicker, more expensive version, which will be equipped with a 4k resolution. Furthermore, the 4k version will also support 100 percent of the Adobe color spectrum, which makes it suitable especially for photographers and video producers. Both versions will have a screen diagonal of 15.6 inches. However, these displays are not suitable for gaming, as they come with responese times of 15 or 14 ms. Overall, this product should be interesting for software developers, photographers, etc. who are often on the road.

To start the production of this device Taihe has launched a Kickstarter campaign to receive enough pre-orders to finance the start of production. The company has more than succeeded in doing this. The campaign has now reached a proud 500,000 dolllar in just 2 days.
