Huawei has announced the launch of what is already being dubbed the "biggest upgrade" in MateBook history. It is to be a new X Pro model, which, according to its new teasers, may have a new feature in which the user can apparently control the laptop by waving their hands in front of the screen. The upcoming PC may also launch with improved cross-device integration.

Huawei has already confirmed that it will unveil the Watch D and Mate V P50 Pocket on December 23, 2021. Now, the OEM has also announced that it has even more to add to this bumper product event. It is a new MateBook X Pro, already touted as the ideal "smart office" machine.

This, according to Huawei's latest teasers, will be thanks at least in part to the ability to set all the hardware used for the office in question up to be as seamless in its connected workflow as possible, so long as there is a new MateBook X Pro at its heart.

The PC should then be able to facilitate the easy "pulling" of data, even whole apps from smartphones, onto its desktop. This, as Huawei's posters suggest, might involve improved cross-platform integration between Windows and other systems, most likely HarmonyOS.

Furthermore, one of the new teasers strongly suggest that the X Pro will launch with the hardware necessary to respond to "space controls", or completely hands-off gestures directed at its display. Whether this possible new feature simply requires the laptop's camera, or something like the ToF sensors employed by LG back when it made smartphones, remains to be seen.
