The Pixel Fold has been spotted again, courtesy of two animations in Android 12L Beta 2 files. The foldable smartphone appears to have almost a square inner display, plus one physical button. The Pixel Fold is tipped to launch with a Google Tensor SoC and 12 GB of RAM, too.

Google's inaugural foldable smartphone has leaked again, a few days on from its Geekbench appearance as the 'Google Pipit'. This time, 9to5Google has discovered two animations in Android 12L Beta 2, reproduced below. As 9to5Google explains, the animations resemble those that Google presents people with when setting up a new Pixel smartphone.

While it is clear that these animations show a foldable device, 9to5Google insists that the animations' code contain references to the 'Pipit' codename. Seemingly, 'Pipit' only has a single physical button on the device's right side. The inclusion of one physical button would be unusual, but not unheard of. For example, Huawei experimented with no volume buttons on the Mate 30 Pro, which it did not repeat with the Mate 40 Pro.

Additionally, 9to5Google claims to have calculated the device's display aspect ratio as 7:8, compared to the 8.4:9 one that the Oppo Find N has. By contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a 22.5:18 aspect ratio. The Pixel Fold is expected to be the third or fourth device to launch with the Google Tensor, the other being the Pixel 6a. The former could also feature 12 GB of RAM as well, matching the Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel Fold could be Android 12L's debut, too.
