NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX SLI vs NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX SLI► remove from comparison
Two NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX graphic cards in SLI combination grant highest performances coupled with highest current consumption. So, the performance is similar to the top DirectX 9 desktop graphic cards (without SLI in desktop).
The 7950 GTX is the top graphic card of the series 7000 from NVIDIA for laptops. It offered at the time of presentation a high performance to play all DirectX 9 games in high resolutions and details. Especially, regarding Antialiasing and Anisotrop filters the combined cards are clearly better than single cards. They are used for big and heavy laptops (because of the heat creation, at moment only in a 19" notebook). The card combination was succeeded by the 8800M GTX SLI card combination.
Due to the fact, that the SLI combination renders each frame on a different graphics card, the frametimes between two frames may differ. Therefore, the game at 30fps may stutter a bit, the so called micro stuttering.
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX► remove from comparison
The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX is top of the mobile graphic cards line from NVIDIA (of the 7000 series) and successor of the 7900 GTX graphics card. It enables the user to play all games from 2006 fluently in the highest resolutions and options. As a consequence, the heat is correspondingly high. Therefore it can be used only in DTR laptops (17"). At moment, there is nothing better for gamers (except the SLI version with 2 cards).
The performance can be compared partially even with the Desktop 7950 GT video cards (partially a bit better, according NVIDIA). Therefore, the Geforce Go 7950 GTX is able to display actual games like F.E.A.R., Company of Heroes, or Call of Duty 2 fluently in high details and high resolutions.
The chip also features the PureVideo Technology but has less features as the PureVideo engine in the current 8600M GT chip. > Comparison of PureVideo features
